New Side "Job"

I have started a new side "job" repairing knitting and crochet projects and finishing UFOs for others! Hey...it gives me an excuse for my own ever-growing UFO collection. The last project I completed was an afghan repair. A gentleman paid for someone in California to repair a family wedding gift mistaken as a dog's chew toy. The result was terrible!!! The pattern wasn't the same and she didn't even match the color (used cream to fix a white afghan). I couldn't believe it when I saw the "finished" product. Anyway, he wanted me to fix it so he could surprise his wife for Christmas. It felt so nice to be able to help him out.

My newest job is piecing together 35 crocheted squares into a sampler afghan. A gentleman contacted me to piece together an afghan for his wife's Valentine's Day gift. The squares are about 30 years old (and are the familiar 70's shades of orange, green, avocado, and brown). When I met with his wife, she told me she was around 10 years old and remembered helping her Grandmother crochet the squares. I'll keep you posted on the progress...the biggest challenge will be finding just the right yarn!!
